Somehow, Tibor and Sarlota were two of the few Survivors. After meeting while living in the same closet for five months, Tibor and Sarlota got married. They were happy to have each other, but deeply saddened that almost all of their family members had not survived. In 1947 there son was born and in 1949 they were told to leave Czechoslovakia or face a very rough future under communism. They spent the next three years in Israel as Tibor helped the Israeli Defense Force build and rebuild airplanes for military use. Then Sarlota brought the family to the United States so she could be near her only surviving sister (out of eight children). They made a new life and blazed a new trail in the United States. Readers will be amazed at how these two Survivor’s began their life in small town Slovakia, the horrors they lived through, how they survived and the people they became. Their grandson brings Tibor and Sarlota to life in this touching, inspiring book that readers have been raving about.
